Test (assessment) → Exam – Exam redirects to Test (assessment), and the name is just a massive redundancy. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 12:10, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 05:13, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- There is no way this is not going to be controversial. It already has move history. Polyamorph (talk) 16:46, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with Polyamorph's assessment. This has been a redirect since 2003! But I also do share the sentiment behind the request. Please do an RM. Dr. Vogel (talk) 17:25, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
OpposeExam is an ambiguous term. A link to its disambiguation page is in the hatnote. Polyamorph (talk) 08:49, 24 May 2022 (UTC)- Support I agree that exam is ambiguous, but I feel that it's a clear primary. Although it may well be that I'm biased due to my own life experience. Dr. Vogel (talk) 11:14, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- I can see your POV, although in my opinion "exam" is more likely to be used for a formal test, with the simpler term "test" used in all settings, formal or informal. I wouldn't say I have particularly strong feelings about the move either way though. Polyamorph (talk) 12:26, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, in my head, an exam is something we sit, an examination is something we do to a patient, and a test could be either, more leaning towards the latter.
- How does one go about deciding this, for the purpose of an RM like this one? Is it mainly some kind of vote based on perception? Or is there some kind of more objective way to decide this? Dr. Vogel (talk) 13:04, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

- Support either proposed move or moving this page to plain test. Either way it's the primary topic. -- Vaulter 17:43, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- I think the proposed move makes more sense than moving it to "test", because "test" is even more ambiguous than "exam". Dr. Vogel (talk) 18:51, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Showiecz (talk) 06:56, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. I agree with the general sense that "Exam" is less ambiguous, and can serve as a primary topic title here. BD2412 T 03:35, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support changed my !vote to support, as DrVogel says test is probably even more ambiguous than exam. Polyamorph (talk) 09:46, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Performance tests
[edit]In Finland all professional trade schooling is assesed by performance tests. There might be one or two written exams if needed. For example a mathematics test if the trade uses lots of mathematics or language tests. The test themself are freely distributed by the board of education, so you can read what are the things you need to show you can do. For example in logistics schooling there is packing, inventory management, new warehouse plannig etc. All those test are described so that they can be administerd uniformally in all trade scools and the emplyees know what skills and on what level the graduate has shown to have.Linkato1 (talk) 06:58, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[1]
